Well I didn’t post about yesterday because I don’t really feel like recounting everything that happened. Sage made it to the qualifying rounds but unfortunately, his Ayane lost at the 8th round. I think he got nervous. I think everyone could tell that after the 1-1 draw…at the 3rd and final round. He was desperately trying to get momentum back by spamming counter, which none of them hit.
Tetra’s Gen Fu is crazy. He went on 2-1 close matches in both the quarter finals and semi-finals. THe cloning stage was dumb. Tina can deal 7/8th of his Gen Fu’s health by Hi Counter Throwing onto the electric floor. However, Gen Fu’s QCF+throw onto the ceiling AND the floor was just as painful. He managed to get to the finals, but by then, his opponent knows what he’s gonna do. It was so obvious. For the last few matches, the Gen Fu is poking, lifting via mid/high attacks and waiting for a chance to execute the QCF+throw. It worked out once or twice, both not Hi Counters, but the Japanese opponent knew what he was after and blocked high and pressed him. It was pretty unfair when you think of it…Gen Fu’s juggle is so damn hard to do and the Jap’s Jann Lee’s was just the usual lift into P,P,P,f+P. Zzzz…
Anyway, Singapore got 2nd place for DOA:U. Congrats to Tetra
Other than Tetra tho, the other Singaporeans didn’t make it that far. WC3 is dead after 8th round and TiTaNs got severly beaten up by Team_EG from Canada. It seemed that Team_EG and Team3D are dominating in FPS with Team3D(OGRES)’s OGRE twins slaughtering everyone in Halo 2 and Team3D’s CS:S team who just won Team_EG a few hours back. Both were close fights from what I heard.
Anyway, WC3:TFT and Starcraft finals tmr. I must get there :p

Damn I woke up late today…I was expecting to wake at 9 so that I can be at Suntec early. Instead I arrived at 11.
Upon entering the WCG venue, Dom and I immediately headed for the DOA3 Xbox Station, where we saw two players playing. The Korean guy (shinobi) was trashing the other guy (can’t be bothered to remember his name) 25-0. His Kasumi was pretty wicked. I wouldn’t wanna get to the bad side of him.
Being PR is…not being a PR. It’s retarded actually. All we do is to guard the Press Stations from people who are not allowed to get in, and walk about the entire place looking and slacking.
I saw Sage today! Well, it’s kinda by accident. My friends were pestering me to try to take on one of the players there (esp the Austrian girl, but I missed her), so we saw a big guy sitting there playing along with his Ayane in sparring mode. So one of my friends commented that he looked…er…bored and after much idle talking, he tapped on the big guy’s shoulder. Said he was looking for someone to play with so I went in. Didn’t know he was Sage until I asked him where he’s from. After hearing he’s from US, I asked if he was James. He said he is. My mind was like ‘holy crap!’ lol . Sage is a great Ayane user, probably the jumpiest I’ve seen. Then we played with random characters here and there. God it’s fun . I wasn’t used to DOAU’s mechanics after playing too much DOA3, esp with the 4-point counter system and the ceiling. Darn, he sure taught me a lesson not to use midkick against his Ayane in the cloning room stage. It’s the only lifter I know for Kasumi.
In Warcraft 3, I just saw Grubby pwn some guy on the big TV. It was a great match, pretty interesting to follow through. However, the Singapore (Gosubay) vs Korea (Avatar) match was retarded.
Singapore: “Imma build Archers!”
Korea: “Imma build Footmen!”
Korea: “Wow, so many archers! Imma get Defend upgrade!”
Singapore: “WoW! Defend upgrade on Footmen! What shuld I do? mmmm I know! BUILD MORE ARCHERSZZZ!!!”
Purely stupid.
Oh and the CS match was hawt, Lituania vs Sweden. I count that the headshot to no headshot ratio to be at least 8:2. AT LEAST 8:2, if not 9:1. It was a very interesting match, losing rounds become wins. 1 man take on 3 with pistol. Failed backstabs with AKs against people carrying DEs. It so damn funny to watch lol.
Peace out.

And here it is, the WCG Grand Finals. My course was…being volunteered…to help with the event and today I was the tag bearer for the country Bangladesh. The company beside me, the Bangladesh team leader and the Austrian team leader. Both were…pretty interesting people and talking to them made me learn a little more about their countries and how different is life there compared to Singapore.
I wish I have a video cam that I can take footages with tomorrow. It’s gonna be a blast. This makes me excited but angry at the same time however. I could’ve been in, I could’ve, but noooo some idiot have to screw me. Bah, I wish I have the ‘Player’ tag instead of the ‘Volunteer’ tag which almost sounds like ‘I’ve been pwnt’.
Now I will never want to be a celebrity after this event. Video cameras shooting me is fine. Normal Cameras shooting me is NOT fine. God I was blinded by the end of the day. The Taiwan guy behind me was like ‘My eyes hurt! (in chinese)’. After going up on stage with the tagcards showing the country’s name, we went back to our seats and listened to speeches. The speeches were interesting lol. I didn’t expect a minister go something like ‘My god bless us with accuracy, reflexes, quick thinking…’ or ‘…the power of the fingertips…’
Afterwards I went to the mini Xbox booth featuring DOA3. I played and won a few guys there, but there was one who was, according to my game marshall friend, the Japan DOA representative. I…well…owned him with kicks and counters. The Punch button was apparently allocated to ‘A’ and I don’t even know what my ‘Y’ button is allocated to. God, if he is really the Japanese representative for DOA, I feel both good and angry, angry because if this was WCG’s grand finals standard, John and I will probably steamroll the whole fucking DOA players this year.
If my sis’ phone can upload pictures, god I’m going to take sooo many pictures lol

Time for another update! School has started and things have been a little wrong as far as timetables are concerned. Other than that, things are fine in school and everything was pretty normal…normal to my classmate’s meter of sanity that is.
I’ve just finished watching R.O.D TV (Read or Die) the anime that John recommended. It’s a really good series, I really recommend it. The 2nd ending theme was pretty nice too. Heh, even before I watched it, the song is already in my MP3 player. Burning it is a little hard because it exceeded my sucky blank CD space. I’m never trusting Sony’s CDs again; it said 4.7 GB and can’t even store 4.45GB. Wtf am I talking about…I’m never trusting Sony again.
I must thank John again for 2 great songs: Intial D the movie’s ‘Gamble Rumble’ and Fafner’s ‘Shangri-la’. Both are great songs that are worth adding to my collection.
SK-new-wise, it seemed that I’m going to be retalled for a bash. I agree that it’s a bash but if it took 9.5k fighters to get 100 land…fuck it, who cares about bash. He’s freakin’ sucky dpl is only asking for trouble. But if I’m getting hit I’m going to get fucking pissed off.
BK and Dom are playing an online game called Myth Wars Online. Since FlyFF and Rakion are getting boring, and my graphics card can’t support BF2, I guess there’s no harm trying.
And I need a new skin for my blog…hopefully after I learnt XHTML I might do something about it.

This week will be pretty damn busy =/
I hope when school starts I can find time to manage my SK a/c, though it’ll be more slack now.
