Back to norm

March 28, 2007

Well, I’m back to holiday swing after working for a 2 weeks in Asiasoft. It has been a great experience overall, but I wouldn’t go into details here. It’s a 12 hour night shift that eats into my weekends though, nothing I’m too happy about.

The holiday is still long, but I have picked up a couple of interesting projects and decided to do some more self-taught programming to keep up with people. There are tons of stuff that I want to do for the rest of my holidays, so many that I don’t know where to start. There are projects, relearning programming, picking up ActionScript 2.0, a couple of old games I wish to complete and a few handheld console games to buy. It’s only the first few days, but I have picked up some basic maths stuff that I have skipped during my school days due to the need to focus on other topics.

On to the lastest game I have played: “Supreme Commander”. I have heard a hell lot about this game so I decided to get it. My impressions on the game were…mixed.

There are basically 3 sides: Cybrans (can’t remember how to spell…human+technology), Aeon (spiritual fanatical humans) and UEF (vanilla human).

Cybrans are basically laserpewpews, UEFs are rocketboombooms and Aeon…are…er…sonicwewewewews.

The mechanics of the game were very interesting. It is kind of hard to explain it in detail though; it would take up a whole article. However, I still do not see the difference between each race yet, looking past the minor differences. As far as Tier 1 and 2 are concerned, all the races look exactly the same. It was disappointing. There were no uniqueness between races…kinda feels like Warcraft 2 with awesome mechanics and uber graphics.

Which would I play between this and CnC3? CnC3 wins my vote.

Trailer up and runnin’!

The godly trailer of my 3 week project. Lecturers asked for encore. I’m such a god. Maybe because I watch too many trailers? I love trailers alot =/

I bet you think they we’ve done alot but to be really honest…I don’t feel that way :p

Finally it’s over again!

March 4, 2007

The 3 weeks project is finally over again and I get a stinky 1 month holiday in compensation. That kinda sucks, but hey it’s better than going straight to my attachment. I’d be taking web-based games and game engine design stuff as well as some Audio module as my electives next sem.

I wasn’t so keen on going to the arcade recently, was really tired and losing $20 to hanyeong in majong doesn’t help. Plus Vanguard is hosting this host double exp weekend thing that I just cannot miss out.

After it’s over though, I guess I’ll hit back to the arcade. I’m probably gonna stop playing K for awhile, and if my A goes okay, maybe for a long time. I dunno. After seeing some videos, I was imagining what happens if I’m playing A. Like when Ken RC fireball i could just Iori roll in and rekka for big damage instead of JD and pray that my hand is long enough for a Kyo rekka and even then it’s still not garunteed that you wouldn’t get punished in certain cases.

It’s certainly a crappy thing to think about. The only thing K has going for them is their huge defense and damage when raged. The rest is up to your JD skills. Seriously if someone does a screwed up string it might screw you up as well sometimes. Like Geese c.LPs block string into reppuken without the sweep

Also I have to note the horrible 5 frame jump. Fuck that thing is a killer. It’s LP into garunteed shoshosho no way to escape other than a lucky JD or pray that the LP doesn’t chain into the shoshosho.

Sad =/
