My first day of work in Envisage Reality today. Although it is heart-wrenching to see Yee Howe, the place seemed pretty nice. Working hours appears rather slack, so hopefully I can easily squeeze my jap lesson in. The room I’m working in is extremely small, but very cosy. It was so small I had to use my laptop and do my work beside Yee Howe’s workstation until we shift into a bigger office. Overall, the place is pretty comfortable and guess what, the Farrer Park code easily applies to here. Outram -> Clarke Quay -> Pugis -> Little India -> Home. How nice lol.
It’s great to see that everyone working there already thinks that Yee Howe is a fag, so we all get along fine pretty quickly. So far, I’ve only met Jeffrey (a great programmer) and Jason (an artist), probably more soon. My work so far is to create some uber-tier 3rd person camera and was conveniently given the resource to work from.
After 8pm we placed a couple of round of Citadels in which Jeff won both. Actually, we don’t really care who won. Everyone was fixated on screwing Yee Howe. We played Assassin, Tax Collector, Mage, Emperor, Abbot, Alchemist, Navi and Warlord the 2nd round. Money was gone like 80% of the time. Everyone was hogging money like fuck man. Seriously, thief takes all the fun away.
The reason why we played citadels was because we were all waiting for Robin to come over, which he did at like…after…2230? It was damn madpiss late. All of us almost change our MSN nicks to “ER is really hungry!” to grab his attention. Anyway, we ate at some nearby food center which was pretty okay. Nothing special, but at least it’s good. The area has some pretty nice food hangouts and a hospital beside it (MGH) in case anyone have food or alcohol poisoning.
All in all, first day seems pretty smooth aside from Robin being extraordinarily late. Said he had to finish up a demo for a crap team and stuff at the last minute for Emerging Entertainment, where he works part-time as Technical Director I heard. Said he’s going to ‘get fired or fire himself’.

FYPJ is finally over and my attachment starts next week.
With Dom and Yee Howe.
In Robin’s company.
I spoke a bit with Dom and he said the same usual stuff. “I have lots of work to do. Go research on ____.” etc…etc… I’m beginning to worry if he ever talks about anything but work now.
He does sound a bit…proud? That’s what his MSN ‘tone’ implies to me. Then again, that’s what his MSN tone ALWAYS implies to me so I shouldn’t be so worried. Is it because I haven’t been speaking to him for a long time? I have a bad feeling about this whole thing. I think I’d rather be in EA with OldMan, but lousy EA is not letting any interns in this term.
Hmm who knows what awaits me. Only time can tell. I just hope I wouldn’t be overloaded with work. I kinda had enough of having ‘no-life’ routine.

I went to John’s house one day and was ‘recommended’ to try it.
Wow.
It’s fuck awesome.
There’s just too many things to list out, but I shall attempt the impossible:-
I will use the word ’shit’ in replacement for a word that hasn’t been invented to describe such crap.
1) Graphics look like PS2 graphics, and its on X360 tier.
2) The trees are shit. They look as if there’s seaweed hanging on them or something
3) The grasses are shit. Not only one set looks shit, they had this wonderful idea of copy/pasting the same set (give or take 2 or so variations) all over the place. Usually I’m okay with that but damn they really look shit in this case.
4) Lip-syncing on models is shit. Looks worse than a Pinocchio-like puppet. I don’t know what those kind of puppets are called.
5) Animations are shit.
6) Combat is shit
7) Combat animations are shit
Lag is shit
the list goes on.
Probably the only things they did right are the sky and the fog.
Wow. I bet this game makes lots of developers feel happier.

Most of us need excuses to get by. We need excuses to make others (or yourself) satisfied for not doing something. ‘Excuses’ is the best invention of mankind. It begs the question: Is there any difference between an excuse and a reason? Can we say that excuses are created on purpose while reasons aren’t?
So take this example:
I purposely booked a dental appointment to skip school. Reason: my filling came out. I guess this can be called a ‘very good excuse’ which means ‘a good reason’. So an excuse is a ‘lousy reason’? Why am I typing random stuff in here?
It was the shortest dental appointment I ever had in my life. 10-15 mins, 2 fillings + polish, $110. God you fucking dentists sure make a shitload of money. I mean you make money out of a person’s living. Assload of them. $110 for 10 mins is like…already more than $10 an hour if you work for 8 hours.
Dentists are Dementors.
…
Okay that was pretty random.
