[NS] Voccation Assessment

February 11, 2008

After 2 hours of sleep, my dad brought me straight to Hendon Camp for some assessment for the Commando unit. Yes, I received the letter. The trip was fuck far, like…damn far…like the other end of Changi. Now I know how my civilians feel like when I build barracks 10 miles away from their homes.

There was a quick medical, physical, and a really long quiz. The quiz is extremely annoying, much like the one I took in CMPT, only that it asks me tons of psychological questions, like behaviours and ways of coping stress etc.

The instructors seemed to want us in. A lot. They threw us many reasons why you would want to enter commando (eg don’t need to go Tekong, jump down plane, do other crazy madpiss fun stuff).

Overall, everything went okay. Other than that, I have nothing else to say on this topic.

[Sales] b4l Designed Tees for Sale

February 5, 2008

b4l is currently selling T-shirts designed by Hwee Kim at a price of S$19.90. The shirts are rather well designed imo. I would most probably buy one of them considering that I have complete lack of shirts (1/3 of them are free btw), and I’m lazy to actually go to shopping centers to buy them. How nice that b4l started this sale just before CNY =p

I find some really well designed like this:
So far I have nothing to gripe about the other designs. They are all great in their own way. But that is art, and in good art, my opinions matters naught. (Bad art is those that are bad in every way of course).
Here’s the designer’s biography snipped from the webbie:
Chin Hwee Khim’s biography:
As a fine art student, Hwee Khim discovers that exploration is an important process for her to discover new ways to express herself. It was her secondary school teacher who leads her to the world of arts. She has won many awards and certificates, most notably being the Gold Award for her oil painting work – My Eyes through Little India at the 2000 SYF Art & Crafts Exhibition. She was also the 1st Runner-Up of the 1999 Art Quest Nationwide Electronic Graphic Design Competition. Besides that, her acrylic engraving work – The Fortune Teller won the Merit award.
